Dr. Amin Mohseni-Cheraghlou

Biography:

Amin Mohseni-Cheraghlou, is an assistant professor at the Department of Economics at American University, Washington D.C. His areas of expertise are Development Macroeconomics, Energy Economics, Islamic Economics and Finance, and Economies of the Middle East and North Africa. His research has been published, among many others, in journal such as World Development, Journal of Financial Stability, Journal of Socio-Economics, International Journal of Islamic and Middle Eastern Finance and Management, and Iranian Economic Review.

Since 2007, Dr. Mohseni has provided his expertise to various departments in the World Bank Group and was part of the team that produced World Bank's first two rounds of Global Financial Development Report in 2012 and 2013. Also, he was the developer of World Bank's Global Financial Development Database. He writes frequently on topics related to development economics, Islamic economics and finance, and economies of the Middle East. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics, an M.A. in International Development, and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
